The main active ingredient of this powerful whitening scrub is Alpha Arbutin, considered as the most expensive whitening ingredient in the world because of its safety and efficacy. Extracted at 99% purity from organic Bearberry from the French Alps and is about 50 times more potent than ordinary Alpha Arbutin, it inhibits melanin formation by competing with the enzyme Tyrosinase which is required for melanin synthesis without affecting Tyrosinase mRNA as seen with most whitening and bleaching agents. A change in Tyrosinase mRNA is directly correlated with skin cancer.
